Winter hit the Northwest hard this year.  With all the snow shoveling and ice scraping, it is easy to forget one of the most important maintenance duties – gutter cleaning.  Clean gutters are particularly important during the winter months.

The many different seasons bring with them a variety of issues. In the summer and early fall we tend to have some brisk winds that bring loose branches and pine needles down onto our roofs and into our gutters. These leaves, needles and twigs should be removed in preparation for the heavy rains our city sees. At end of fall, it is important to make sure gutters are clear as to not allow ice dams to form around your downspouts.

Any time standing water is allowed to form there is a tremendous amount of weight being placed on your gutters that can result in detachment of the gutter from the fascia board. After late winter rolls around we are safe to yet again pull out the leaves and needles. Summer can also be a great time to have us come out. Our most thorough cleaning of your roof and gutters can generally be done at this time with a backpack leaf blower . This can make for a time consuming and risky job.
